Mirage is a piece inspired by water washing over the land. There is a sense of solid land with the anticipation of water nearing its edge. Using a special iridescent blue hue a real sense of movement is achieved in the ripples…and the paint is translucent enough for the layers beneath to come through. Earthy, neutral colours are my particular favourite to work with, and they give an additional impression of satellite images of the earth.
