Radiant Bloom is a very domineering piece as it's literally a dense wall of white cherry Blossom!! The petals are so layered that you can't even see through to the background…the background is more petals!! I've created a floral texture in the resin by hand, cutting petal shapes and overlaying these shapes multiple times. Its an extremely laborious process but really very effective in adding a literal finish to the subject.

My work has on occasion been described as photorealist because the further back the canvas is viewed…the more it resembles a photo. However, my work is anything but photo realist… my aim is always to capture the essence of the subject and to stimulate the viewers' senses. I feel this is where art becomes magic that it has the ability to achieve this...I hope you agree!
