In this breathtaking oil painting, the cargo ship RMS Carpathia takes center stage, teetering elegantly in a busy cargo port Fiume (modern Rijeka, Croatia), as she prepares to embark on her utilitarian yet legendary voyage.
Against the backdrop of the industrial equipment of the port and the hard work of the workers, RMS Carpathia becomes a beacon of maritime significance. Its black body glistens in ambient light, reflecting its surroundings. A bright salmon-colored chimney towering above the superstructures serves as a bright accent to the surrounding scene.
