Original artwork description:

This paper and wood original dot collage is made from pieces of vintage book imagery.
I collect and sort (hoard) images from books. I group them by theme and over time amass enough of a certain theme to make an artwork from them.

Some of these little images are from vintage books of up to approx 70 years old. I am particularly drawn the vintage imagery that was created using old litho print methods the old books plate pictured often have halos or slight offset colours. The colours of the landscapes are often violet or green hue which I am drawn to.

I have carefully extracted the old plates, bonded them onto birch plywood boards giving them a textured hand-painted surface texture. The sheets are then laser cut into these 16mm dots.

The artwork comes framed in black or if you prefer you can ask and I will switch it to a white box frame.
