ORIGINAL OGNYAN CHITAKOV ARTWORK !!!

2022, "Ori" - stone wall sculpture, ready to hang

This original melted volcanic rock wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by postmodernism, expressionism and fantasy. The artwork represents one of the dwarf characters from J. R. R. Tolkien's novels The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings. Ori was a member of Thorin's Company of Dwarves and participated in the Quest of Erebor, as well as fighting in and surviving the Battle of Five Armies. He, along with his cousins Dori and Nori, were remote kinsmen of Thorin II Oakenshield.

The artist's concept is to melt the artwork's stones at high degree temperatures, reaching the point where they melt, going back to their origin magma state and then slowly cooled down. This way the artist restarts the formation of the stone material and brings it naturally back to a new organic shape and name it after one of Tolkien's fantasy characters. The wall sculpture is one extraordinary melted red tuff masterpiece and exquisite modern home wall décor.

"Each stone material is alive and has a soul. I never ignore it and its gravity as well. I try to give each artwork the feeling of lightness." ... by the artist
