As an emerging artist discovering the creative process, one of the biggest lessons I had to learn is to balance the Apollo and Dionysos in me. This painting represents that ongoing struggle between wanting to let go of everything, surrendering to pure feeling and going back into linear thinking to not lose touch with society.

One of the main characteristics of this piece is its rhythmical nature, the figures almost seem to dance on the canvas. The studio that I created it in is connected to a 24-hour nightclub outside the centre of Amsterdam. Electronic music has been a big source of inspiration for me, as you can see in the almost mathematical structure hidden in this piece.
