In a lot of my collections you will see glass and mirrors are a common theme. I particularly love capturing different angles of the same object and the shapes and patterns this adds to the composition.

As an Artist I see inspiration everywhere and usually it is a particular element in the everyday that catches my attention. I loved the light behind the orchids and it really reminded me of a night scene with a full moon, but in the comfort of my own home. The dark tones created such lovely patterns against the light and the the cool white/pink orchids are reflected in the mirror to create an atmospheric scene.

Stretched canvas primed with gesso, oil paints used and varnished framed canvas
