Original artwork description:

Spring tides expose stretches of sandy foreshore with all manner of flotsam; some welcome, like wood, others such as car tyres and scraps of plastic and fish netting much less so. Even less welcome are the occasional whale or dolphin having strayed into shallow water and been unable, through disorientation, to return to safer deeper parts.
