A variation on the theme of silhouette trees. This vibrant acrylic painting contrasts two opposite colours to give a strong and attractive composition. The surface is made up of many overlaid dabs of paint. The trees are realistic, with lots of details, and many branches which break up the patterned background. It may be seen as a sunset, although this was not really my intention. I wanted to paint cool blue trees and the warm oranges and reds seemed like the best colours to compliment the trees.

It is a painting, on thick paper, attached to heavy cardboard, to keep it flat. This is then framed with an ivory mount and backed with additional card to keep it tidy, and ready to frame. It takes a regular 16 x 20 inch frame, which you can buy anywhere. I supply the mount, but not the frame. I have shown it framed in the photos, just so you can see the effect. It looks good with a black frame.
