'Ophiuchus Abstract Butterfly' painted in mixed media on box canvas. The painting is multicoloured, slightly textured and it has a coat of shiny varnish. The sky-coloured paper butterfly is collaged into the painting. Butterflies are symbols of hope, the soul and transformation. Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer, is the 'new' 13th sign of the zodiac, and he represents the evolution of the soul. Inspirations and links to butterflies in art history: Damien Hirst 'Spin Butterfly' series. The painting is ready to unwrap and hang, or it can be taken to a professional framer for a specially made canvas frame if preferred. I have signed the painting on the front and on the back.
