My paintings in that period were done on location, without preliminary sketches nor any working lines on the paper. This is paint applied directly on a blank page.
The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
This scene goes back to my time living on the gulf islands in coastal BC, Canada. Lovely rural settings there. this is one of the last remaining paintings from that period. A typical Canadian rural scene. The board says it all! Painting was done on location.
