“Only Blue” is an ethereal abstract seascape oil painting 40 x 40cm (16 x 16 inches) on 2cm (0.5 inch) deep canvas.
It’s inspired by the River Thames at night. I painted this when I lived near the river in Hammersmith just before I left to move to the sea in Hastings, so this painting is full of reflection and anticipation. It’s titled from Colour by John Martyn
It's painted in shades of blue, black and white . The paint is layered, blended and slightly textured in parts. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas and it is signed on the back. It is to hang and come with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
