Original artwork description:

I love painting sunlight and brightly lit still lifes, but I had never painted the evening light until now. My studio window is east facing, so when I paint in the evening, it is usually natural light but not bright sunlight. The other day, the evening sun was shining bright and bathing my kitchen in the warm glow. So I moved my set up to the kitchen, set up these fruits randomly on the floor and sat down to paint. Well, anything for a slice of the sun, isn't it?! :)

I sketched my set up quickly, directly on the board and thankfully managed an initial block in while the light was still there. Completed the painting from my mental notes and a photo that I had taken. I hope I have done justice to the beautiful light.

This painting is flat and ships unframed, safely packaged in a cardboard box. If you have any questions, write in!

Materials used:

gesso, wooden panel, oil paints, varnish
