One Moment/Facing North
Original Acrylic Painting

This original acrylic painting is on artists board. In this new series of paintings, I extend the picture area to cover the whole frame, thus including it in the compositional considerations of the painting.
The 'Moment' series is drawn from field notes in which I quickly sketched and wrote my impressions of a very particular time in a specific place. Later these sketches and words formed the basis of paintings.
The painting is varnished with layers of silk varnish for protection and a gentle sheen. The painting is framed in a wooden frame that has been painted as described above and is fitted with hanging fixtures making it completely ready to hang.
