With one eye closed, 1 and 1 is still 2 and the world keeps going round.
An etching is a copperplate where with the help of acid I have incised my drawing, I then add aquatint to get the deep tones of ink, with the help of rosin that gets heated onto the plate, all a bit complicated but fun, and us printmakers, we love to complicate things! You can see me make and print an etching if you go to the "me at work" section here in my shop.
Every time I print the copperplate, I have to ink it up with special etching inks, and then put it on my etching press, place the printmaking paper on top and pull it through.
When the ink and paper has dried, I sign and number each print, please note I can't guarantee you get the number in the photo.
The size of "one eye closed" is, paper 46 cm x 43 xcm (18" x 17")
and the actual printed image, the copper plate, measures 38 cm x 30 cm (15" x 12")
I have signed, titled and numbered the print in a short edition of only 40 prints.
I ship from my studio in Denmark with many years experience in packing my art so it arrives safely, see my over 850 reviews!
Thanks for looking and welcome back, Mariann
