Once Upon a time

50x50cm Acrylic on Canvas.
This painting is escape, this painting is all the once upon a times which could have been, for all of us who have tired to escape from what is.

This painting is created with layers of inks, followed and intermingled with acrylics, varnish glazing techniques, the painting is created over a long space of time as each layer settles and drys before the painting is worked on again, each layer becoming increasingly transparent so that the painting becomes richer and deeper, the surface just as important as the final image.


My work is ephemeral feminine expressionism, I am a painter, I work with all paints and mark making mediums, inks to oils. Currently exploring themes of Folklore and mythology, and inner beings.
