“Once Upon a Dream” is a romantic and dreamy portrait that was modelled by my daughter.

As well as roses, hydrangeas also hold a special significance for me because they were one of my mother’s favourite flowers. Mum was a great gardener, and after she passed away,we took cuttings from her garden. From the 100 or so rose cuttings I had, eight took, which is how many children are in my family! I cherish those roses now.

I also have hydrangeas growing in my garden and whenever I see these pretty mauve flowers, I’m reminded of Mum. Spending time in my garden is special for me as this is the time that I feel closest to both my departed parents.
