Acrylic colour on acid free, American unbleached raw paper 300gms, 22 x 30 in., 56 x 76 cm
Trains, buses are very good places to capture people & poses ideas. I sometimes have a fantasy of setting up an easel in a packed train … ride & paint…
This is an expression of that, based on a large pastel crayon drawing I did long ago. There’s also an earlier painting of the same sketch which I did about that time (the long ago time), which is now lost. I have a few on the ‘lost‘ list… It’s a bit disturbing.
This version has brilliant colours, lots of white overlays and rough brush strokes to bring movement to the scene.
The close up picture is to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, me with the painting for perspective, and me with the pastel crayon sketch.
