On the road to Zaragoza is the first of a new body of work informed and inspired from road trips through Spain, France and Italy in 2014.
The landscape of Northern Spain can be vast, open, beautiful and has introduced me to a soft palette of Mediterranean colours.
I often photograph the landscape on the move and love the way the colours and shapes blur and meld like a Gerhard Richter painting.
This painting is very textural as I have used folded silk on top of board as a ground to further emphasize the sense of movement.
It is framed in a contemporary white, wooden, hand made, hand painted box frame which gives an authentic touch.
