This oil on wood panel is a painting by Linda Clerget about the poetics of travel and her desire to leave. The road is ambivalent: it is a human construction that paradoxically allows us to reach wilder areas and contemplate the landscape, and this is what interests her. She therefore places great emphasis on the natural surroundings of the road. In fact, the road and the car that appear on it have very little space. They are merely a modern means of accessing wide open spaces, and intrinsically raise the question of how modernity can be used to reach the wild.

Linda Clerget is a French painter influenced by Impressionism, who works alla prima.
