On the heath
The streaks of colours,
Violet, pink, orange and yellow,
The dark mysterious woodland,
A prominent Christmas tree,
Rempstone heath, Dorset

Words and expression of seeing many exciting sunset skies in the Isle of Purbeck.
This scene particularly stood out after a long walk taking in the beautiful colours above the woodland and ridge. I love this area I wish I could live there as I feel such a connection with the landscape.
Original impressionist watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper 300 gsm 140lb. I used wet on wet washes and dashed the sky with expressive streaks whilst the paper is wet. For the Christmas tree I used a Chinese brush and a fan brush plus etched out in areas with the end of the brush. I created this original unique watercolour as an art demonstration for my student one to one in the Art Garden Studio.
