On the edge of the field is where you will often find me as I love to paint outdoors. This field in Belgium caught my attention with all its seed heads and dried grass - high summer was past. It was after a thunderstorm and there was still that dullness in the air. It´s not a sunny painting or a dramatic scene but I loved the subtle colours and this is what I wanted to convey. The beauty of simplicity!
