This hawk, Buteo Buteo by name, spent a few days circling above our property last summer and I haven't spotted him since. I could never hope to capture a close-up photo of him so I used a beautiful shot by photographer Stephen Coyne as a reference.
The painting was done using watercolor and gouache on rough watercolor paper.
