Biography
I am a Canadian multidisciplinary painter and sculptor living and working in Toronto.
Art has always been my true passion! I have had an extensive art practice for more than 25 years consisting of Abstract Works, Landscapes, Figurative Works, and Bronze Sculpture.
In my early art practice I was focused on landscape painting and figurative art working in both graphite and oil. That practice lead me to experiment with different materials and styles, and as such, I have developed many different artwork series' over the last several decades.
While my current art focus is Abstract Expressionist Painting, I also have a love for sculpting, painting, and drawing the human form for which I was academically trained at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto.
I would say that I have been most influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement of post-World War II America which includes works done by Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, and Hans Hofmann as well as the works of Joan Mitchell and Canadian artist, Jean Albert McEwen and French artist Pierre Soulages.
While I have been an artist all of my life, I moved into art full time in 2007 after having had a successful career in healthcare. I then owned and operated a gallery in Toronto for eight years where I exhibited my work and the work of other Canadian and International artists. This offered me the opportunity to fully establish myself as a full-time artist in Canada. During and since that time I am thrilled to have been able to exhibit my work in solo and group shows within Canada, the United States, and Europe.
My abstract artworks, figurative paintings, commissioned portraits, and sculptures can be found in private collections in Canada and Internationally.
Thank you so much for your interest in my work!
