This is a plen aire landscape of the mountains and sky near Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was painted quickly in an attempt to capture the freshness of the ever-changing light and sky. This is an oil painting done on heavy gessoed watercolor paper.
When I do plen aire painting along the roadside, it is not uncommon for a tourist to stop to watch--and occasionally buy work right off my easel. If you buy this painting and tell people you did that. I won't deny your story! Such a romantic way to acquire art.
