This is an absolute one of a kind sculpture created with total joy. I simply loved creating every element of this work of art especially as the individual characteristics and the relationship between the birds began to emerge.

I wanted to extended my sculptural works by thinking more about presentation (ie, stands and bases or how a piece could be hung and incorporated into an interior space.)

The idea for this 'On High' swing on a chain feature came about after cutting bases for other works (my flamingo series in partcular.) Needing birch plywood bases meant that organic outer sections were created and inspiration was born. As I love to use and upcycle as many materials as possible the beauty and potential was obvious.

Vintage chain has been used to create the hanging aspect of this piece which is full of charm and character over a full 360 degrees view!

The branch is seasoned, hand carved wood and the birds are created using a mix media technique which I use for many of my sculptures.

Colourful and vibrant, 'On High' is bursting with energy and life. A true inspiration and an ideal purchase for when only a genuinely unique, well made, uplifting artwork will do.
