Artwork description:

"On Distant Hills" is a deeply personal reflection of a quiet moment on the Isle of Skye, gazing toward the mainland of Scotland. From the clifftops, I was struck by the way the clouds rested on the distant hills, as if they were waves softly breaking against the land. I wanted to capture that sense of calm and connection, using gentle shades of blue and brown to echo the natural harmony of earth and sky. The soft pastel tones bring a grounding warmth, designed to evoke peace and serenity, while complementing earthy, modern interiors. This piece invites you to pause and reflect, carrying a piece of that stillness into your space.

About My Work
I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers that hold their colours for a lifetime. For this piece I will print on Canson Aquarelle Paper which has a beautiful texture like watercolour paper. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
