ON CRANE ROAD SHE WALKED….

This young girl has a lot on her mind, it’s been stormy in her home, she’s been yelled at, her parents have called her stupid, worthless, and ugly. Though she is none of these things. She feels lost and alone. She decides to take a walk outdoors. Behind her, a pair Cranes have returned back to their nesting grounds. She hasn’t noticed them yet, but she can hear them call behind her. The forest, the fresh air, the magical Cranes can save her soul, she just needs to open up to the magic.

Where I live the sandhill cranes come in early spring, returning to the lake. They are such magical creatures; I love to see them at the lake. Cranes are magical and they symbolise abundance and good fortune. This girl is taking a walk on the road and two Cranes lift into the air behind her. She is thoughtful and can hear them and is about to turn around. My style is impressionistic, and I love the idea of the magical settings of nature corresponding with us, the humans of the world.
