Original artwork description:

Charles Dickens tale of Oliver Twist is timeless. I was not thinking more than the image of him asking “please sir can I have some more” is moving image to me. It does coincide with the government in U.K. withdrawing school dinner fund to the poor and may be that played a part in the inspiration but I did not consciously think of that when painting but maybe it was a sub conscious part of the process.
