During our May holiday in 2022, I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful island of Zakynthos. As a nature lover, I was blown away by its breathtaking beauty and diversity. A highlight was meeting a majestic olive tree near our apartment in Kerion. With its cracked bark that you could see right through, this impressive tree seemed to want to turn towards the sky, looking for the sunlight. I was so fascinated by this tree that I photographed it. Later, I digitally edited the image and hand-painted it, using coarse layers of gel medium to create a tactile texture. Standing before the work, you can almost feel the warm yellow moss.
