I paint olive trees again and again and wonder what is the secret of their extraordinary attractiveness?
I want to endlessly look at the winding trunks, follow the whimsically wriggling flexible branches, admire the delicate narrow leaves that look like schools of silver fish.
And how many fruits they gave during their long life, how many people passed under their branches to collect olives, how many events they saw over many years!
And I think I will not stop in my admiration, and will create many more portraits of magnificent, poetic, luxurious, free, abundant olive trees.
