The beautiful silvery-green light in the olive grove makes one long for the sultry warm Mediterranean summers. The trees let through a diffuse light and when the wind blows, the leaves rustle so that you can doze off. The humming of the crickets and the smell of olive wood are a boon to the mind. I have been painting since I was 7 years old and after 50 years I still do it with a lot of pleasure and enthusiasm. I painted this oil painting 'plein air' (in the open air) on my favorite Greek vacation island Paxos in the Ionian Sea. Since 1988 I come to Paxos because of the peace, authenticity, the simple and delicious food and the beautiful sea.
