My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation.
In this piece, I try to capture the bright light highlighting the clouds' outline and the shimmering reflection on the calm waters below.
I am always drawn to the movement and mood of the skies and sea - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
I study the sea and skies over Anglesey, North Wales and also the Cheshire hills, close to my home
The clouds' layers and rippling waves are developed by forming texture through layering and blending the oil paint, building depth, movement and highlights.
