Two years ago I started collecting impressions of old objects. I called it
"Things that have aged"
It's so lovely that some places still have these old brass taps. I haven't seen them in the city, of course, but I'd love to! But the lovely thing is that you can still find these taps on water pipes in private gardens and near suburban cottages. And the best part is, they still work really well! I think there was probably less talk about protecting nature in the past, but more was done for nature. Things were made to last, and they were built to last well. They lasted longer, which is great for the environment.
I have some old taps at home. My husband is a bit of a hoarder, bless him! For him, throwing out an old switch, electrical wire or piece of plumbing is like saying goodbye to a friend.
I love looking at and drawing old things. And a brass faucet, in my opinion, is a luxury!
