357-Old Mossy Oak - Vieux Chêne Moussu
The sunlight on the moss of this old oak tree gave such a solid ancient object a vitality that belies its age. I wanted to paint this to show that even in a stationary tree there is a sense of movement and lightness. I deliberately did not work this painting so I could preserve it's apparent youth.
