Oil painting Transgression
The painting depicts a scene of destruction and devastation in a city that has clearly experienced a catastrophic disaster. The ruins of buildings and debris litter the landscape, with broken and charred structures indicating the extent of the devastation. Amidst this wreckage, a lone figure can be seen standing on the roof of a damaged house, releasing a flock of doves into the sky.
The man is a symbol of hope and resilience, as he rises above the chaos and destruction, sending a message of peace and renewal through the release of the doves. The birds soar into the sky, offering a glimmer of hope in an otherwise bleak and desolate environment.
The painting was created in Kyiv in 2021 and has since become prophetic, as it seems to have foretold the events that unfolded in Ukraine in 2022. Despite the tragedy that has befallen the city, the painting offers a message of hope and resilience, suggesting that even in the darkest of times, there is always the potential for renewal and regeneration.
