“42”_x000D_ 30x40 oil on canvas. _x000D_ I started this 5 years ago. I kept layering and layering and layering until I realise I’ll never finish this so it’s finished. My friend kindly sat for me but it’s not at all him it’s completely about the stuff I was going through at time. I was completely confused tired and undiagnosed didn’t know what was happening in my head really. Pneumonia almost 7 years ago made a mild case of narcolepsy become full pelt narcolepsy. Saying that my Nan had narcolepsy and had to give up her job at 40 and was diagnosed then so it might be just my genes and age. Anyhow when I was painting this my brain was shutting down. I was lost and couldn’t think straight (still can’t but I know what it is I have drugs a regime and a neurologist so things are ok) anyway. It’s time I list it on artfinder. An important work in my catalogue. I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement. I paint with high-quality materials and put a lot of thought into texture and detail. My process is a mix of intuitive brushwork and deliberate layering, aiming to create pieces that are rich in emotion and invite you to see something new each time you look at them.
