My artwork juxtaposes two figures from different realms: one more instinctual and untamed, the other contemporary, cerebral, and constrained. Both going to create a living in very different ways. The bushman I photographed outside the Kgalagadi in South Africa. The graffiti is images I've collected. Other symbols are African in origin. The raptor I photographed in Namibia. It speaks to the universal journey of 'going to work' and contrasts our innate human instincts with societal expectations. This piece challenges viewers to reflect on identity and adaptation in the human experience, adding a compelling, thought-provoking energy to any space. In this vibrant piece, I meld photography, graffiti, pen, and ink on a colorful canvas, intertwining elements of Khoisan art with street art and semi-abstract styles.
