I adore painting portraits, especially in the more contemplative poses. This particular portrait is a study of a life model - painted from life - allowing a good, long time to reach an accurate likeness.
What was particularly fabulous about this sitting was the model's hair which she wore wound in an enormous plait on the side of her hair. A delight to paint.
This is painted in oils on a deep stretched canvas and comes ready to hang.
