With a rounded head, large dark eyes and a hooked beak; these little creatures have been called 'woodland hunters'. They have a compact, powerful build with brown-grey feathers and rounded wings that make no sound as they swoop down on an unsuspecting prey. This one looks rather demure but make no mistake, looks can be deceptive.
I have created this Tawny owl in impressionistic style, painting wet-in-wet. A little blue in the background gives contrast to its pale body. The painting is unframed and sent flat packed.
