A pen and wash painting of an octopus. In this painting I was try to achieve movement within the image with the positioning of the tentacles and the line work. I was also interested in the positive and negative space of the overall composition. Using complementary colors was also a challenge I set myself, especially as I have rarely used purple in my work before. I was particularly happy with the granulation effects I achieved on the body.
