On that cool autumn evening, I went to the old city in search of a beautiful motive for painting. This unremarkable old street caught my attention. She was already in shadow, the contrasts of color were soft, elusive. And only one single ray of the setting sun illuminated the yellow leaves of the vineyard. They lit up like little lanterns in the evening twilight. I only had half an hour to paint this magical light! I painted these luminous leaves and the wall behind them first of all and spent the rest of the time working on other parts of the landscape.
This landscape is painted with oil paints because they allow you to work quickly and give you many opportunities for different techniques in painting. I really like to paint the urban landscape, I like to find traces of human life in them.
