Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.
View from my studio overlooking the gorges of the river Loire. At all seasons, the mists that rise from the river in the early morning inspire my work. They veil and unveil the mountains and reinvent this landscape so familiar.
This landscape is painted “alla prima”, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight, the movement and the atmosphere.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
