This is the fifth painting in a collection of eight paintings inspired by the seven deadly sins. "OcchiArsi" is the image of envy. Faces are eliminated and only the eyes remain to watch, scrutinize, judge. Inside offices or on a stage, in a shop or walking down the street. Envy is instinctive. There is no elaboration. It is an unconscious sin but it often turns into small acts of malice that can affect us or the person towards whom the small malice is directed. Yes, envy is instinctive, but if we don't know how to control it, it turns us into worse people. The collection of which the painting is part is called "DELLA LIBERTÁ" and was exhibited in Caltanissetta in the "CORRISPONDENZE IMMATERIALI" exhibition from 2023, September 23 to 2023, October 14.
