The definition for an oasis is something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast, it is a place of calm in the midst of chaos.

This painting is a trompe l'oeil that captures for me the definition of an oasis, a corner of paradise. The violets with their intense colour and subtle scent, transport us in a state of calm and wonder.
