Nymphalis polychloros (ukr. "сонцевик" - "sunny" or "sunshine") is one of the most beautiful butterflies in Ukraine and Europe. In 2018, it was named butterfly of the year in Germany.
I started thinking about creating a series of watercolor butterflies of Ukraine last year, when I spent a lot of time in the Carpathians, and in June I enjoyed the flight of these beauties. Finally, I made my decision after visiting the exhibition "Insects from the closet" in the Kyiv Museum of Natural History. Since childhood, I loved observing entomological collections in museums, so why not create your own?))
