There are many opinions about morality and its relationship to religion. I don't see a direct connection, but some people, and especially devout believers, are convinced otherwise. I think it is just an empty declaration of morality. I think physiology and instincts trump religious dogma. Or hypocrisy and lies come to the surface.
I may be overly cynical in my reasoning, but I have a lot of life experience that tells me I am right on this issue.
