NOTHING MATTERS VERY MUCH
AND VERY LITTLE MATTERS AT ALL (NOW)
This was something my Dad used to say, as did his father before him. Dad was always telling me to turn it into a painting, which I have now.
This artwork was created by gluing down lots of layers of collage, including many artwork scraps and leftovers, as well as some bits of gold and copper leaf. I then cut through the layers with a scalpel and peeled bits out to reveal the layers below. It seemed like a really good idea, but it turns out it takes forever. Mounted on cradled wooden panel.
