Original artwork description:

This painting is, for me, about light, which, I admit, might be the true subject of every painting . . . . yet, here, the glow of a pink sky at dawn, uniformly pink because of the presence of high clouds and mist that diffuses the light, is something special. But then, too, the abstract pattern of the dark masses, and their reflections in the waters of an old canal, along with the green grass on the embankment, attracted me as well. This is painting in oil on stretched, gallery-wrapped linen; the color is archival (up to 500 years the paint manufacturer tells me) and it is sealed with a coat of archival-quality varnish. This work is professionally framed in a contemporary box-type dark walnut, 3-inches deep. In fact, my framer had to order the framing wood because of the depth required. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is signed on the back and my insignia is in the lower right corner.

Materials used:

canvas, oil paint, archival varnish, wooden frame, wooden stretchers (gallery wrapped)
