This artwork depicts the colours of autumn with rich earth, cloudy skies and golden leaves. The burnt umber earth is painted with oils and acrylics in smooth brushwork. The golden element in the middle has been painted on with gold encaustic wax and this leads to the most impasto part of the work at the top which has been laid over heavy body gesso to create lots of texture.
